High of an Exhibition

Highs of an Exhibition
Well being part of an exhibition the biggest high is to meet fellow artists. To know there are others like you equally talented and hardworking. To feel their spunk and spirit doubles that of yours.
And when the show is about street art where people from all walks of life mingle together on the same platform it just becomes unrivalled experience. So much to share and so much to learn.
When I paint I am just in my own zone , disconnected to any other thing around me. However it all changes if the painting is done at a public place where you get live audience interactions and appreciation for your work. The feeling can't be compared to anything else.
All across the globe street art has never been more popular or relevant. As most of the time it is associated with graffiti, there is much more to street art like yarn bombing, sculptures, stickers, paste-ups' to name a few.

I participated in one of the show recently in Nottingham and can say it was one of the best shows I have seen. Such a blast with young children performing street dance, live paintings made even when the weather refused to cooperate, live music and a gallery filled with art work from ceiling to floor.
Let's start with live paintings:

I was in one of the exhibitions and saw amazing work of an artist which were done using wood burning pen. I thought I will try and do few illustrative work myself and luckily one of my friend was kind enough to donate few wood barks/logs to try. Honestly I enjoyed the technique so much. Definitely try to do some  more later!

Hand painted wooden tray

Wooden bowl painted with acrylic

These works were done on small scale utility items like wooden bowls and trays. The exhibition was up for a weekend at Darnley Road Gallery in Hackney.
Personally I don't take astrology as serious subject but I will confess that I do find the idea fascinating as how people can relate with zodiac signs.
I made six artworks based on some of the zodiac signs.
